Westhampton Beach Police Log: Task Force Yields DWI Arrests

Arrests through June 26.

Editor’s Note: The following information was supplied by the Westhampton Beach Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

On June 23, police charged Juan Vicente, 26, of Westhampton Beach, with DWI, a misdemeanor and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Police say Vicente was involved in a car crash on Montauk Highway and said he was so intoxicated that he could not safely perform a field sobriety test.  He was arraigned the following day and released on $500 bail.

On June 23, between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m., with the help of the , several DWI arrests were made.

• James Dowans, 25, of Cutchogue, was pulled over on Oak Street for failing to signal and was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor.  Police say Dowans was also charged with operating with a suspended registration and unlawful possession of marijuana. He refused a blood test at headquarters. 

On Montauk Highway at 2:39 a.m., Warren Booker, III , 21 of Mastic, was charged with driving while ability impaired combo drugs and alcohol, a misdemeanor. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.  Police say he was pulled over for having a non-functioning plate light and for failing to signal for a turn. Police say Booker consented to a blood test, which was positive for marijuana. 

At 4:02 a.m police charged Glen Green, 25 of Scarsdale, New York with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police say they pulled him over for speeding on Dune Road. He was arraigned and released on $500 cash bail.
