Police say on August 11, they were alerted by bank personal there a possible bank fraud in progress. Police say they arrived on scene and upon investigation charged Britney Garland with criminal possession of a forged instrument, identity theft and grand larceny, all felony counts. They additionally charged her with forgery.
Police say Garland presented the teller with a licence of a California woman and attempted to withdraw money from the woman's account. Police say that Garland also had her own id with her.
Garland was held overnight in Southampton and held on $25,000 bail.
