Westhampton Beach Cops Investigating Stabbing

A stabbing reportedly took place Sunday at a Montauk Highway restaurant.

Westhampton Beach Village police are investigating a stabbing at a Montauk Highway restaurant that took place over the weekend.

Westhampton Beach Village Police Lt. Trevor Gonce, on Sunday at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to Los Tres Diamantes on Montauk Highway in reference to a report of an intoxicated male subject who was refusing to leave.

Upon arrival, police determined that a fight involving four individuals had occurred inside the premises and moved outside to the parking lot.

After interviewing witnesses, police determined that four individuals had fled the scene in a four-door Chevy Avalanche, with a New York license plate. 

While at the scene, police received a call from the dispather that a call had come in from Peconic Bay Medical Center regarding a stabbing victim who reported he had been at the Los Tres Diamentes during the alleged brawl. After the man was released from the hospital later that evening, he went to Westhampton Beach police headquarters with other witnesses for interviews. According to police, the injured man did not immediately realize he had been slashed.

Police have surveillance video from the scene and are reviewing it in an ongoing investigation.
