Falsely Reporting an Accident
Marta Garcia, 36, of East Quogue, was arrested Nov. 24 at 7:55 a.m. at police headquarters on Jessup Avenue in Quogue and charged with falsely reporting an incident and false written statement, both misdemeanors. Police say that Garcia’s 15-year-old son, who does not have a driver’s license, was allegedly in a one-car accident on Nov. 17 at 6:03 p.m., but Garcia said she was driving the car at the time. Police say they used witness statements and other information to discover that Garcia's son was the one driving the car.
