Town Police Log: DWI, Petty Larceny and Menacing

Driving While Intoxicated
• Jose R. Cabrera, 30, of Southampton, was arrested June 17 at 3:29 a.m. on Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Cabrera was pulled over after failing to maintain his lane. He was additionally charged with being an unlicensed driver and moving from a lane unsafely, both infractions.

• Fredin A. Vasquez, 44, of Hampton Bays, was arrested June 17 at 2:13 a.m. on Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Vasquez failed to maintain his lane and pulled into a parking lot without signaling. Further investigation shows he was intoxicated, according to the arrest report. He was additionally charged with moving from lane unsafely and unsafe turn without a signal, both infractions.
• Gus Garcia-Blancarte, 26, of Flanders, was arrested June 16 at 10:18 p.m. on County Road 39 in Southampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Garcia-Blancarte was speeding and failing to maintain his lane while driving on County Road 39 westbound near the Shrubland Road intersection. He was additionally charged with speeding, a traffic infraction.

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs
• Michael O. Healey Jr., 23, of East Quogue, was arrested June 16 at 12:15 a.m. on Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, as well as multiple traffic infractions and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Police said Healey was stopped for failing to maintain his lane and failing to signal a left turn. When an officer approached the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana was detected, according to the arrest report. Police said Healey admitted to having smoked marijuana within the last 15 minutes and had a small amount of marijuana on him.
Petty Larceny
• Frank Keller, 63, of Hamptons Bays was arrested June 14 at 6:54 p.m. on Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays and charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor. Police said Keller was seen by a manager attempting to leave the a grocery store in Hampton Bays without paying for several items.
Menacing
• Elvis Garcia, 27, of Hampton Bays, was arrested June 16 at 5:27 p.m. in Hampton Bays and charged with menacing in the second degree, a felony. Police said Garcia threatened another man with a baseball bat.
Criminal Contempt
• Nicholas J. Fisher, 26, of Flanders, was arrested June 11 at 6:54 p.m. in Flanders and charged with criminal contempt in the second degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Fisher was pulled over for not wearing and seatbelt when it was discovered there is an active stay-away order of protection barring him from seeing the passenger in his vehicle.
