Town Police Log: DWI Task Force Hits the Streets

Also among the week's police reports, marijuana, cocaine and crack arrests.

The following information was supplied by the . A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

During the night of July 21, multiple police agencies patrolled Southampton Town streets as part of the . There were many arrests made throughout the town related to drunk driving and drug possession offenses. These arrests were in addition to routine patrol arrests made during the week.

Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

• Guido N. Arevalo, 29, of Bridgehampton was arrested July 19 at 9:26 p.m. at Corwith Avenye and Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; and failing to stop as a stop sign, a traffic infraction. Police said Arevalo’s licensed was revoked and there were two bench warrants for his arrest.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Donald P. French, 65, of East Quogue, was arrested July 20 at 2:11 a.m. on Noyac Road in Noyac and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said French was arrested after being involved in a motor vehicle accident and admitting to drinking before the accident.

• William A. Altman, 21, of Hampton Bays, was arrested July 19 at 12:31 a.m. on Penny Lane  in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, all misdemeanors. Police said Altman ran a stop sign and failed to keep right. When he was pulled over by police, he stumbled from his vehicle and ran, according to the arrest report. He was apprehended after a foot pursuit, police said.

• Jesus A. Soto-Rivas, 29, of Southampton, was arrested July 16 on Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they responded to a witness report of an erratic vehicle and after pulling over Soto-Rivas he admitted to drinking.

• Marisio Bonilla, 25, of Southampton, was arrested July 21 at 4:15 a.m. on Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. He was additionally cited for refusing a breath screening test and moving from lane unsafely.

• Jason Anthony Rodriguez, 28, of Mamaroneck, was arrested July 22 on Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.

• Gina Champion, 49, of Manorville, was arrested July 21 at 11:29 p.m. on Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and moving from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction. Police said Champion was pulled over after swerving over a double yellow line,

• Jennifer L. Rosenbloom, 40, of New York City, was arrested July 22 at 2:31 a.m. on Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and moving from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction.

• Brendan Patrick Fox, 21, of Hampton Bays, was arrested July 22 at 11:59 p.m. on Springville Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and moving from lane unsafely, a traffic infraction.

• Alexander Fuentes, 34, of East Patchogue, was arrested July 22 at 3:26 a.m. on Flanders Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as driving without a plate lamp and failure to keep right, both vehicle and traffic infractions.

Drugs

• Timothy Ryan Jordan, 21, of Hampton Bays was arrested July 22 at 1:15 a.m. on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and driving without a plate lamp, a vehicle infraction. Police said Jordan was found to be in possession of cocaine.

• Aubrey R. Fauvell-Thomas, 32, of Speonk, was arrested July 21 on Flanders Road in Riverside and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Fauvell-Thomas admitted to smoking crack for the past week and she told police she had a “stem” in her purse.

Marijuana

 Justin H. Guy, 25, of Massapequa Park, was arrested July 22 at 2:44 a.m. on Springville Road in Hampton Bays and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, both misdemeanors, and moving from lane unsafely, a traffic violation. Police said Guy was pulled over for failing to maintain his lane and a strong odor of marijuana was emanating from his vehicle. Marijuana was found in the vehicle’s center console, and an even larger quantity of the drug was found in the trunk, police said. He also had a large mount of cash on him, and his license was suspended, police said. The vehicle was impounded.

Criminal Mischief

• August Rose Thilberg, 19, of Hampton Bays, was arrested July 18 at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with criminal mischief in the second degree, a felony. Police said Thilberg turned herself in to answer of charge of causing $3,100 in damage to a 2007 BMW 328 on Aug. 6, 2011 on Woodleigh Place in East Quogue.
