Southampton Town Police Log: Two Arrested for DWI

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

reports from Oct. 24 through Oct. 31:

DWI

Julio Sebastian-Pedro, 24, of Riverhead was arrested Saturday at 8:05 a.m. near the exit for North Road on Sunrise Highway and charged with DWI and unlicensed operation, both misdemeanors. Officers say they saw Sebastian-Pedro driving fast down Flanders Road and he appeared intoxicated when they pulled him over.

Osbeli Salazar, 35, of Southampton was arrested Friday at 2:53 p.m. at the corner of Montauk Highway and Victoria Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI and unlicensed operator, both misdemeanors. Police said Salazar was stopped for leaving the scene of a minor accident when they discovered he appeared intoxicated.

Burglary

A 53-year-old man from St. James told Town Police that sometime between Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. and Sunday, someone broke into his home on Old Wakeman Road in Hampton Bays and stole a television and DVD player, worth a total of $250. Police are investigating for fingerprints and police determined that local kids go through the man’s property to get to Canoe Place Road.

Larceny

A 49-year-old man from Hampton Bays told Town Police that sometime last Tuesday, Oct. 25 someone stole an iPhone and case from his car, parked in the driveway of his home on Kyle Road. The man told police that he heard odd noises outside his home at around 12:30 a.m. Oct. 25. Town detectives are investigating.

Criminal Mischief

Craig Oudeans, 42, of East Quogue was arrested Saturday at 3 a.m. on West Side Avenue in East Quogue and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor. Oudeans kicked in the front door of a home, damaging it and its jamb, police said.

Mysterious Vomit

A 54-year-old man from the Bronx arrived at his Hampton Bays home, on Grant Boulevard, Saturday at 3 p.m. and discovered a small pile of vomit on his couch and household items scattered throughout the residence. Small footprints were found around the windows and doors, and two chimney flues on the roof were uncapped. Police determined that a raccoon had most likely entered the home, which had last been secured Oct. 19.
