Police Arrest Minor, Charge In Connection With 10 Graffiti Tags

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Town Police arrested two 17-year-old Hampton Bays boys after they spotted them drawing graffiti on the side of the Canoe Plane Inn Friday, according to police.

The two boys ran into the woods when police spotted them drawing graffiti on the building, said Town Det. Sgt. Lisa Costa. Officers caught one teen on foot, but used police dogs to find the other, she said.

Officers charged one of the teens in connection with at least 10 tags across East Quogue and Hampton Bays, including one on a fence near the intersection of Sunrise Highway and County Road 104.
