Southampton Police Log: Felony Thefts, Riverside Drug Raid and Assault

Southampton arrests from Oct. 15 to Oct. 22.

Grand Larceny

•Kelly Walters, 25, of Sayville, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, after she was detained Oct. 15 at the Stop & Shop store on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays at 7:00 p.m. Police say store security claim Walters fraudulently altered customer refunds for cash in the amount of $1300.

•Dequan Clairborne, 20, of East Quogue, was charged with felony grand larceny on Oct. 15 after he was detained by Stop & Shop security at the Hampton Bays supermarket on Montauk Highway. Claiborne was charged at 7:00 p.m. Police say Clairborne stole over $1000 from the store.      

Assault

•Trever Jackson, 18, of Flanders, was charged with felony assault on Oct. 19 in Flanders at 11:10 p.m. According to police, Jackson was involved in a domestic dispute on Brookhaven Avenue during which he hit another man in the head with a 25-pound dumbbell.

DWI

•Tony Jones, 52, of East Moriches, was charged with dwi, a misdemeanor, after his car was stopped Oct. 19 on North Phillips Avenue in Speonk at 11:00 p.m. Jones was additionally charged with refusing a breath screening test, a violation.

•Levertis Butts, 59, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, Oct. 20 in Flanders at 8:00 p.m. after police stopped his car on Flanders Road.  

•On Oct. 18, Rodolfo Giraldo, 32, of Hampton Bays, was charged with aggravated drunk driving, a misdemeanor, after his vehicle was stopped in Riverside on Flanders Road at 8:30 p.m. 

Menacing

•Oscar Arce, 25, of Hampton Bays, was charged Oct. 22 with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of the breath of another person, both misdemeanors. Arce was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. Police say that at 3:00 a.m., Arce woke up a woman during the night in an intoxicated state and threatened her with a knife while her children were sleeping in the same room.

Drug Arrests

•Matthew Manzella, 23, of Hampton Bays, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after his car was stopped in Riverside Oct. 21 at midnight on Lake Avenue. Manzella, according to police, was in possession of a small quantity of heroin. Manzella’s passenger in the vehicle, Denzel Faines, 21, of Riverhead, was also arrested on a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession, a violation, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. Police reported that Manzella attempted to flee after the traffic stop.

•The East End Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Suffolk County Police and Southampton Town Police, arrested Clyde Blount, 28, of Flanders after a raid at his home in Riverside Oct. 18 at 1:19 p.m. Blount was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a felony, criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
