State Troopers Charge Man Found With Stun Gun Flashlight

Muhammad Haynes, 36, of Westbury, was nabbed while parked on Sunrise Highway.

New York State troopers charged a Westbury man on Thursday after they spotted him in a parked car on Sunrise Highway, near exit 65 in Hampton Bays at about 10:00 p.m. 

Police said Muhammad Haynes, 36, of Westbury, had in his possession a stun gun flashlight and there was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and marijuana emanating from the car.

Police charged Hanyes with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, a felony, after they learned, through a criminal history check, that he was on probation for a previous weapon possession conviction.

Hanyes was also charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a misdemeanor, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.
