State Police Take Over Alleged Teacher Misconduct Case

State police said there are no new developments in the case.

New York State police have been put in charge of case involving the alleged misconduct of a Westhampton Beach Middle School teacher.

According to Westhampton Beach police, the case was handed over last week after Westhampton Beach's lead investigator, Ed Hamor, was involved in a car crash.

State police said that since taking over the case, there have been no new developments and the investigation is ongoing.

Police launched the initial investigation on Feb. 26 after Westhampton Beach School District Superintendent Mike Radday reported to police that several students made allegations about a male teacher.

The allegations, according to police, mention an incident that occurred in the girl's locker room. No other details were made public.

Westhampton Beach School officials said they are taking the incident very seriously and have placed the teacher on administrative duty until the investigation is concluded.
