State Police: Hampton Bays Woman Arrested for Felony DWI

New York State police say they arrested a 40-year-old Hampton Bays woman on felony DWI charges on Saturday at around 2 a.m..

State Police say they pulled Jeannette Garofano, who was driving a white Saturn, over for speeding and for failing to dim her headlights on Flanders Road in Southampton. Upon investigation, officers detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage.

Police reported that Garofano was unsteady on her feet and failed sobriety tests, blowing a breath sample of .21 BAC. She was also found in possession of two grams of marijuana, police said.

Garofano was charged with a felony DWI, with a least one DWI conviction on her record in the past ten years.  She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and traffic violations.
