State Cops: Drunk Man Was Asleep at the Wheel
Robert Chavez, 36, of Southampton was charged on April 24.
New York State Troopers say they charged Robert Chavez, 36, of Southampton with DWI on April 24 after they found him asleep at the wheel of a black Chevrolet Impala at the USA Gas Station on Route 24 in Flanders.
Troopers say when they interviewed the driver, they detected a strong alcohol odor. Chavez, police said, failed a field sobriety test and had a .33 percent BAC.
Chavez is scheduled to appear at the Town of Southampton Court on May 7.
