Southampton Town Police: Police Respond to Three Burglaries

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

reports for the week of July 18 through July 25:

Burglary

The 43-year-old owner of James Maguire Antiques on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays told police that sometime between 6:30 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday morning, someone broke into his business and stole his laptop, an Acer worth $800. The owner’s brother lives next door but did not hear anything. Police are investigating.

The caretaker for the old Turtle Bay night club in East Quogue told town police that sometime between July 14 and July 19, someone entered the building and took out several cases of liquor. The building, on Montauk Highway, has been vacant all year and was unsecured, but is set to open a single day in August to maintain the liquor license, according to police documents.

The owner of Schmidt’s on North Sea Road in Southampton told town police a jar of change was taken from his Hampton Bays home between the morning of Tuesday, July 19 and the evening of the following day. The value of all the change was $1,400, according to police documents. Police are investigating.

False Written Statement

Andrew Ceslow, 18, of Amagansett was arrested Tuesday, July 19 at 2:24 p.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with false written statement and second-degree obstructing government administration, a misdemeanor. Police said they questioned Ceslow regarding a broken window found at a building on County Road 39 in late May, but discovered after other interviews that he lied about the incident.

DWI

Jonathan Patino, 21, of Hampton Bays was arrested Sunday at 4:30 a.m. at the corner of Montauk Highway East and Gravel Hill Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they saw Patino drive out of lane when they discovered he was intoxicated.

Harry Flores III, 21, of East Setauket was arrested Sunday at 8:40 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Flores over because he was driving out of lane and had his windows tinted too darkly.

Erwin Coronado, 21, of Hampton Bays was arrested Saturday at 11:22 p.m. at the corner of Flanders Road and Long Neck Boulevard in Flanders and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they saw Coronado drive out of lane and then discovered he was intoxicated.

George Kapanoske, 57, of Laurel, Maryland was arrested Sunday at the corner of Canoe Place Road and Argonne Road East in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Kapanoske drove out of his lane and, when they pulled him over, discovered that his breath smelt strongly of mouthwash. He also was unsteady on his feet and slurred his speech, police said.

Pamela Fazzetta, 25, of Ridge was arrested Sunday, July 17 at 9:15 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Fazzetta drove out of lane, prompting them to pull her over. 

Disorderly Conduct

Andriy Podzdniakov, 23, of Hampton Bays was arrested Sunday at 8:28 p.m. on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with disorderly conduct, a violation and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. Police said Podzdniakov was seen acting violently and tumultuously; he screamed and pushed several Boardy Barn security guards, according to documents. He also scared patrons of Uncle Joe’s Pizza, police said.

Criminal Contempt

Wladyslawa Dolinska, 68, of Riverhead was arrested Wednesday, July 13 at 3:30 p.m. on Nidzyn Avenue in Remsenburg and charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Police said Dolinska, a housekeeper, violated an order of protection by going to a home on Nidzyn Avenue and dumping garbage on the property.

Robert Miller, 22, of Hampton Bays was arrested Sunday at 10:23 p.m. at his home on Wakeman Road in Hampton Bays and charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony. Police said that they discovered Miller violated an order of protection.
