Police Blotter for Hampton Bays for the week of September 27 through October 3, 2010

Criminal Mischief 4th Degree

On Sept. 28, victim Lynn Wines of E. Quogue reported a stained glass window on her front door was broken.  She was not home at the time and nothing was taken from inside the house. 

Petit Larceny

On Sept. 29, victim Nicole Fitzgerald of Cutchogue reported that someone stole a Tom Tom from her 2007 Toyota RAV 4 while it was parked on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.  Police have no leads in the case.

On Oct. 1, victim Nancy Dubrowsky of Hampton Bays reported that someone stole a gym bag, CDs, workout gloves and a sweatshirt from her car while it was parked on Dune Road in Hampton Bays.  Police have no leads in the case.

Littering

On Oct. 1, someone reported a large amount of dumped household garbage on Candice Lane in East Quogue. 

Property Damage

On Oct. 2, victim David Sheehan of Easton Connecticut reported that someone struck his car on Canoe Place Road in Hampton Bays, causing damage to the vehicle, and failed to report the incident.

Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree

On Sept. 28, victim Cheryl Warga of Reston, Virginia reported that she suspected someone had been in the basement of her house on Gravel Hill road in Hampton Bays. 

Petit Larceny

On Sept. 28, victim Thomas Connelly of West Tiana Road in Hampton Bays reported that someone stole his GPS system from his car, which was parked on Inlet Road West in Hampton Bays.  Police have no leads in the case

Aggravated Unlicensed operation of a Vehicle 3rd Degree

On Sept. 28, police arrested Timothy McCarthy, 36, of Bethpage for Aggravated Unlicensed operation of a Vehicle 3rd Degree on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. The defendant was also said to be operating his car without a seatbelt.

Disorderly Conduct

On Oct. 3, police arrested Shawn Stoeckert, 25, of Hampton Bays, Kyle Stoeckert, 27, of Hampton Bays, Dylan Tucker, 21, of Hamptons Bays and Geoffrey Holthaus, 23, of Hampton Bays for disorderly conduct in front of the Boardy Barn on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.  The defendants were said to be engaged in a fight.

Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree

On Oct. 3, police arrested Irweng Reyes, 19, of Hampton Bays for Menacing and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree in Hampton Bays.  Police say the defendant menaced his parents with a machete and samurai sword during a fight over damage to their car. 

Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle 3rd Degree

On Sept. 18, police arrested Fernando Diaz-Garro, 50, of Hampton Bays for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle 3rd Degree on Montauk HYWY in Hampton Bays.  The defendant said to have a suspended registration.  The vehicle was impounded and the defendant was released for a future court date.

Grand Larceny 4th Degree, Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree

On Sept. 29, police arrested Brian Jenkins, 44, of Narrow Lane in Bridgehampton for stealing two pairs of shoes from the homes of two women in Hampton Bays.  The defendant has been charged with two misdemeanors and a felony.
