Southampton Police Make Multiple Arrests Memorial Day Weekend

Arrests ran the gamut from DWI, drugs, public exposure and weapons possession.

Southampton Police’s increased Memorial Day Weekend DWI patrols have resulted in additional DWI and drug arrests in Hampton Bays on Saturday. The arrests follow .

At 8:20 p. m. on Saturday, police arrested Miguel Quinones, 25, of Glen Cove and charged him with DWI.  Police say Quinones was stopped on Good Ground Road in Hampton Bays for failing to maintain his lane of travel. Police say after further investigation, it was found that Quinoes was intoxicated.

Also arrested on Saturday for DWI was Michael Darmiento, 24, of Shirley.  Police say at around 5 a.m. Darmiento was spotted driving in an erratic manner on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.  Police said after an investigation, Darmiento was found to be intoxicated.

In addition to DWI arrests, Southampton Police say they made several drug-related arrests on Saturday.

Joanne Iannece, 30, of Massapequa was nabbed by police and charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a misdemeanor; one count of criminal possession of marijuana, a violation and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor. According to police, Iannece was stopped for a traffic infraction on Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays when they discovered that she had a weapon in her possession, three types of controlled substances as well as a magic marker-sized stun gun.

Also in Hampton Bays Douglas Riley, 23, of Rocky Point, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor and public urination, a town code violation.  Police say Riley was spotted urinating in public on Dune Road in Hampton Bays and upon further investigation, police say they found that he had pot on him.

Also  on Dune Road, police arrested Richard Shamsheer, 27, of Jamaica, Queens, for exposure of a person, a violation. Police say Shamsheer was arrested after he was observed standing on Dune Road in Hampton Bays, exposing himself to passing vehicles.  Police say that upon further investigation, he was found to be drunk.
