Southampton Police Log: Woman Steals Rings, Sells Them for $200

The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Grand Larceny

Dorothy Guthrie, 40, of East Quogue was arrested Saturday, August 6 at 12:30 p.m. on Birch Street in East Quogue and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies. Police said Guthrie stole two gold rings from her housemate and sold them to a jeweler in Riverhead for $200 on August 6.

Code Enforcement

Joseph Carter, 33, of Hampton Bays was arrested July 27 at 9:42 a.m. at his half-finished home on Wauhope Road in Hampton Bays and charged with no certificate of occupancy, barking dogs and property maintenance violations. Someone lodged an anonymous complaint about Carter, saying that two pit bulls bark continuously on his poorly-maintained property. Unregistered cars and vehicles in pieces were also found on the land, according to police. Code enforcement officers also discovered that Carter is occupying the home without a permit.

Resisting Arrest

Daniel Donnelly, 26, of Manhattan was arrested Sunday at 12:53 a.m. outside in East Quogue and charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and trespass, a violation. Donnelly was escorted off the premises by The Drift Inn security and told not to return, but he came back to the club the same night and was combative, police said.

False Personation

Ferdin Castro, 24, of Eastport was arrested Sunday at 9:59 a.m. on Speonk-Riverhead Road in Speonk and charged with false personation and third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, both misdemeanors. Police said Castro was in an accident and gave police a false name and date of birth, as well as a false identification card. He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for his injuries and then to police headquarters.

Petit Larceny

Dylan Pisaneschi, 17, of East Quogue was arrested Saturday at 1:22 p.m. on South Country Road in Quiogue and charged with petit larceny and intent to commit a crime, both misdemeanors. Police said Pisaneschi was arrested for trying to steal a fog light from a junkyard.

Harassment

The manager of the on Mill Road in Westhampton told police that on Thursday, August 11 at around 10:55 a.m. a customer filled up a cooler with beverages and ice, and came to the register to pay for some of the beverages. When the manager asked to look inside the cooler, the customer cursed at him and left without paying for any other items that may have been in the cooler. According to police, the incident was filmed on 7-Eleven’s security camera.
