Police Log: Memorial Day Weekend DWI and Drug Arrests

Southampton arrest reports through May 5.

DWI

• Carlos Luna, 45, of Flanders, was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, on Monday. Luna was pulled over on Springville Road in Hampton Bays for failing to maintain his lane, according to the arrest report.

• Jason Hobson, 35, of Hampton Bays, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday after he crashed into a fence and trees on Pleasure Drive in Flanders. Police said Hobson’s car flipped on its side in the crash. He was not injured.

• A 27-year-old Hampton Bays man was charged with a felony after police pulled him over on Montauk Highway on Sunday for driving through a traffic light, according to an arrest report. Police said Raul Quezada was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor.

• Christopher Prendegast, 23, of East Rockaway, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday after police pulled him over for crossing a double yellow line on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, according to an arrest report.

• Robert Ryan, 52, of Merrick, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday. Police said Ryan was pulled over on Head of Pond Road in East Quogue for driving the wrong way on a one-way road.

• On Friday, Denise Gravel, 50, was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor, after she was pulled over on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays for moving from a lane unsafely, according to an arrest report.

• A 53-year-old Staten Island woman was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday, after she was pulled over on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Police said Elisa Orlando was initially pulled over for crossing the double yellow line.

• Paulo Melo, 29, of Danbury, Connecticut, was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday. Police said Melo was pulled over for passing in a no passing zone on Dune Road.

• Kaitlin Hipworth, 25, of Garden City, was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor, on Monday on Dune Road in Hampton Bays.  Police said Hipworth got stuck in the sand after making an illegal U-turn. Her car was towed.

• Diego Manosalvas-Flored, 29, of Maspeth, New York, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Sunday.  He was pulled over on Dune Road in Hampton Bays after leaving Neptune Beach Club and then crossing a double yellow line, according to police.

• Angelo Vetrano, 32, of Shirley, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Monday, after police said they pulled him over on Montauk Highway, in Hampton Bays, for driving through a red light on Ponquogue Avenue. Police said Vetrano was also unlicensed.

• Robin Durand, 30, of Hampton Bays, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Thursday after police said she was involved in a car accident on Tiana Road. Police said she was also charged with moving from a lane unsafely. She was also unlicensed, according to the arrest report.

• Laura Vivonetto, 24, of Moriches, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Monday after police pulled her over on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays. Police said she was initially pulled over for making an improper right turn. She was also unlicensed, according to the arrest report.

Resisting Arrest

• On Monday, Oswald Ramirez-Trejos, 28, of the Bronx, was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, after police were called to Neptune Beach Club on Dune Road in Hampton Bays. When being placed under arrest, police said, he attempted to punch an officer, missing and falling to the ground. Police said they were called to the club after club owners asked Ramirez-Trjos to leave, but he refused. Ramiriz-Trejos was additionally charged with trespass and harassment in the second degree, both violations.  

Drugs 

• After an investigation, police said they charged Sharon Frost, 57, with growing cannabis without a license, a misdemeanor. Police said they found the weed growing on Lakeside Avenue in Westhampton.  She was further charged on Tuesday with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

• Duvan Castro, 27, of Sag Harbor, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, after police said they found a bag filled with white powder in his pocket while being booked at headquarters. He was brought to the station after being charged with criminal mischief in the fourth, a misdemeanor, for slashing the front tire of a car while an officer looked on, according to an arrest report. 

Petty Larceny

• Amy Patton, 50, of Westhampton was charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, on May 5, after police said she took a $41 bottle of Grey Goose vodka from a business on Montauk Highway in Speonk on April 18. She was released on $100 bail.  

Disorderly Conduct

• A Southampton man* was charged with disorderly conduct, a violation, on Saturday after police were called to Momentos in Hampton Bays. Police said the man, who was cursing and making gestures to the owner and patrons, refused to leave the restaurant.
