Southampton Police Log: Man Threatens Woman with Chainsaw

Southampton Town police arrest reports for west of the Shinnecock Canal through April 22.

Menacing


• Mark Harrison, 54, of Hampton Bays was arrested April 20 at 7:38 p.m. at his Hubbard Lane home and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a felony, as well as menacing in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. Police said Harrison menaced a woman with a chainsaw and put her in fear for her life and her child’s life. The chainsaw was placed into evidence, police said.

Sex Offender Failure to Report Change of Address

• Earl Calloway, 53, was arrested April 15 at 10 a.m. at police headquarters in Hampton Bays after police said he moved out of the homeless sex offender trailer in Westhampton to an unknown location on Feb. 9. He was charged with failing to report his change of address to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, a felony.

Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument

• Samtos Martinez, 39, of Riverside, was arrested April 19 at 7:06 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, a felony. Police said Martinez was involved in a single-car accident near the intersection of Flanders Road and Fanning Road and it was discovered that he had a forged government ID.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Byron Arnoldo Hernandez-Tocay, 28, of Flanders, was arrested April 20 at 11:55 p.m. near the intersection of Flanders Road and COunty Road 105 in Flanders and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as moving from

Obstruction of Breathing, Mischief

• Sean N. Meehan, 29, of Westhampton, was arrested April 20 at 11:30 p.m. and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.  Police said Meehan was taken into custody at his parents’ residence in Westhampton after his girlfriend called earlier to report he had choked her during an argument and took away her cellphone when she tried to call 911. He was held overnight at police headquarters for morning arraignment.

Criminal Mischief

• Dyshaun M. Carter, 32, who police said is homeless, was arrested April 20 at 11 p.m. in Flanders and charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony. The arrest report states that around 10 p.m. Carter intentionally damaged a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero belonging to the mother of his child. The damage was in excess of $250, police said.

Immigration Warrant

• A police officer responded to Hampton Bays on a report if a drunk man in the road April 20, near the intersection of King Street and Springville Road. The officer conducted a New York State Police Information Network check and discovered the man, Wilson M. Carranza, who also goes by Wilson Carranza Martinez, has an outstanding warrant from federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement for his removal from the United States, according to the arrest report. He was transported to police headquarters and held until he could be picked up by ICE, the report states.
