Southampton Police Log: Man Grabs Child's Throat, Charged With Felony

Southampton police arrests through July 22.

DWIs

• Dagna Griciute, 22, of Riverhead, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on July 21 after he was pulled over at 4 p.m. on Springville Road in Hampton Bays for moving from his lane unsafely, police said.

• Margarito Soledad, 32, of Southampton, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on July 21 after police pulled him over on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays at 2 p.m. for failing to maintain his lane.  He was also cited for not wearing his seatbelt.

• Henry Romero-Rodriguez, 30, of Astoria, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on July 21 at 3 p.m. after police said they pulled him over on Shinnecock Road in Hampton Bays for failing to stop at a stop sign. Police said he was also driving without a license and additionally charged with unlicensed operator, a violation.

• On July 21 at 9:24 p.m. Troy Hueschen, 35, of Raleigh, NC, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Hueschen was stopped for failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.  

• Janet Zapata, 46, of Huntington Station, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Saturday at 8 p.m. Police report that Zapata was caught after they spotted her speeding on Dune Road. Police said that at the time the road was flooded, making conditions dangerous.

• Police charged Yomarie Dingui, 32, of East Northport, with DWI, a misdemeanor, on Saturday at 7 p.m., after they spotted her driving on the shoulder of Dune Road, eventually getting her car stuck in the marsh.  

Drugs

• A 31-year-old Riverhead man and a 30-year-old Hampton Bays man were arrested after police caught them snorting cocaine in a parked car in the Beach Bar parking lot on Foster Avenue in Hampton Bays on July 7 at 3 p.m., according to police. They were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. The Hampton Bays man, who was sitting in the driver’s seat, was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

• On July 21, at 3:14 a.m. police charged a 40-year-old East Quogue woman with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. Police said she had a small quantity of hydrocodone pills. She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and operating an unregistered vehicle.

• A 40-year-old East Quogue woman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, on July 21 after police said they found her sitting in her car on Stewart Avenue in Westhampton with a pill bottle filled with Percocet pills. She was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Grand Larceny

• Clifford Stokley, 57, of Riverhead, was charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a felony, on July 21 at 7 p.m. Stokley was charged, police said, after they reviewed video surveillance of him stealing an air compressor from Flanders Sheet Metal, located on Flanders Road in Flanders.

Endangering a Child

• Gregg Gennari, a 50-year-old Hampton Bays man was arrested after police said he grabbed a child’s throat during a dispute on Louis Court on July 19 at 11 p.m. He also allegedly broke the windshield of a car causing more than $250 in damage. He was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, a felony, and criminal obstruction of breath, and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.  

Obstruction of Breath

• Raymond Dockery, 45, of Riverhead was charged with criminal obstruction of breath, assault in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, all misdemeanors, on July 21 after police said he was involved in a domestic dispute on Pine Street in Northampton. Police said the man attempted to strangle his girlfriend, who was also charged. Danielle Rowley, 42, of Northampton was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree, assault in the second degree, both felonies. She was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a misdemeanor. Police said she strike her boyfriend with a broken chair and then damaged household items, valued at $1,060.

Criminal Mischief

• A 36-year-old Hampton Bays man was charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, resisting arrest, also a misdemeanor, harassment in the second degree, a violation, and unlawful possession of marijuana, also a violation, on July 19, after he was involved in a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend.
