Southampton Police Log: Littering Leads to Drug Charge
Police say man dropped a baggie containing a cigarette laced with CPC.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

• Jason “Justice” Charles Scott, 24, of Flanders, was arrested April 6 at 11:49 p.m. on Flanders Road in Riverside and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and littering. According to the arrest report, Scott was walking northbound along the round in the southbound lane when, at the sight of a police officer, he dropped a clear plastic baggie on the ground, which contained a cigarette laced with PCP. Police said Scott also had a small quantity of marijuana in his left front pants pocket.

• Nelson Daniel Hernandez, 21, of Riverhead, was arrested April 5 near the intersection of Glider Avenue and Flanders Road in Flanders, and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as moving from his lane unsafely and failure to signal, both misdemeanors. According to the arrest report, Hernandez failed to keep his vehicle within the marked lane on Flanders Road. He was taken to police headquarters, where he performed poorly on sobriety tests and refused a breath test, according to the arrest report.
Marijuana
• Two teens were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges after they were found smoking pot at the beach at the end of Longneck Boulevard in Flanders, according to police. An arrest report states that a 17-year-old Calverton boy and 16-year-old Riverhead boy were both charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, as well as unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
