Southampton Police Log: Drunk Driver Exceeded 100 MPH

Two other DWI arrests reported west of the Shinnecock Canal on Sunday.

Driving While Intoxicated

• Andrew J. Brennan, 21, of Garden City, was arrested June 30 at 3:45 p.m. in Hampton Bays and charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, and speeding, a traffic infraction. The arrest report stated that Brennan was driving east on Sunrise Highway at a speed of more than 100 miles per hour when he passed a police officer. Police said that when he was stopped he was found to under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana.

• Christian Pena, 40, of Mastic Beach, was arrested June 30 at 12:15 a.m. on Dune Road in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations: having an open container of alcohol and an equipment violation. Police said Pena was driving east on Dune Road near Road H with no tail lights and when he was pulled over it was discovered he was drunk behind the wheel.

• Glen-Gavin Emmet Duffy, 37, of Stamford, Conn., was arrested June 30 at 9:32 p.m. at the intersection of West Tiana Road and Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and having insufficient lights, a traffic infraction. Police said Duffy was pulled over for driving with the headlights off after dark and was found to be intoxicated.
