Southampton Police Log: Four Charged With DWI

Drugs

An East Quogue man was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Jan. 13 after police stopped him for failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.  Police say that upon investigation they found that Evan Gilks, 18, had a small bag of marijuana and a pipe. Gilks was also cited for moving from a lane unsafely.

DWI

A 23-year-old Hampton Bays man was charged with DWI on Jan. 28 after police pulled him over for speeding on Montauk Highway.  Police say Steven Campos stopped near and charged with DWI, aggravated unlicensed in the third degree, unlicensed operator, failure to signal and speeding.

Vincente Reynoso, 38 of Speonk was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree, alcohol related and unlicensed aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree on Jan. 27. Police say they pulled Reynoso over on Mill Road and Oneck Lane in Westhampton for a traffic infraction. 

Nichol Banks, 38 of Southampton was charged with DWI on Jan. 29 after police say they pulled Banks over for speeding and swerving on Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays. Police say Banks had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and has slurred speech and glassy eyes.

Bryan Mora, 20 of Hampton Bays was charged with DWI on Jan. 28 after police stopped him on Flanders Road in Hampton Bays for failing to maintain his lane.  Police also charged Mora with moving from a lane unsafely.

Obstructing Governmental Administration

A 20-year old East Hampton resident was arrested for obstructing governmental administration after police say she failed to move away from a scene where the driver of the car she was in was charged with DWI. Police say Wendy Quintero, crossed her arms and said, "Get your hands off of me, I'm not moving."
