'Snooki' Joke Reportedly Leads to Felony Arrest
Police say a Hampton Bays man broke a beer bottle over fellow partier's head.
A joke about Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi – a self-proclaimed “guidette” who’s been parodied in the press – reportedly sparked a fight in an East Quogue basement Dec. 18 and a subsequent felony arrest.
Police say A 23-year-old Hampton Bays man was playing beer pong with a friend and an unidentified woman at around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 in the basement of a family friend’s home on Squires Avenue, where a holiday party was being held. According to an incident report, the Hampton Bays man and his friend joked around and called the woman “Snooki."
Police say Anthony Cassese, 18, of Hampton Bays, who was also hanging out in the basement, then told the 23-year-old man to stop insulting the woman. The 23-year-old said he stopped, but then Cassese allegedly then broke a beer bottle over his head.

The 23-year-old man was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center for a cut on his face.
Cassese was arrested Dec. 18 at 4:36 p.m. at his home on Jackson Avenue South in Hampton Bays charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.
