Southampton Police Log: Taser Used To Subdue East Quogue Man

Police reports through Nov. 12.

Editor’s Note: The following information was supplied by the Southampton Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Drug Arrests 

• Charles Gamble, 31, of East Quogue, was arrested in Northampton on two felony drug charges on Nov. 10 at 10:10 p.m. Police reported that Gamble was stopped on Lake Avenue in his vehicle and attempted to flee. After a brief foot pursuit, cops said they captured Gamble, used a Taser to subdue him, and found 35 bags of crack cocaine. Gamble was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance fourth and third degrees, both felonies. Gamble was also charged with resisting arrest,  a misdemeanor. 

• Kevin Sangster, 34, of Hampton Bays, was charged Nov. 10 at 7:20 p.m. with criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Police said Sangster was seated in a vehicle in the rear parking lot of the Hampton Bays UA movie theater when he was observed rolling and smoking a  marijuana cigarette. 

• Anthony Jenkins, 47, of Riverhead, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor on Nov. 10 at 1:00 a.m. after he was seen on Flanders Road riding a bicycle without lights. Upon investigation, say police, Jenkins was found to be in possession of a quantity of cocaine. 

• Douglas Munker, 31, of Hampton Bays, was charged on Nov. 11 at 10:35 p.m. with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, after police said they caught him with two oxycodone pills and a marijuana cigarette in his car that was parked on East Landing Road in Hampton Bays. Munker was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, for allowing access to the drugs with an underage female in the vehicle.

Criminal Possession of Stolen Property

•Joe McKay, 65, of Riverhead, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, after he was found to have pawned stolen jewelry at a store in Riverside. The arrest was made Nov. 3 at 1:50 p.m. in Riverside. 

Grand Larceny

•Marquise Greene, 23, of Mastic, was charged by police on Nov.7 with felony grand larceny in Hampton Bays after an investigation revealed that Greene had unlawfully used a company gas card for his own personal use, racking up more than $1,000 in fuel charges. Greene was arrested at police headquarters at 5:17 p.m. 

Assault

•Justin Suarez, 24, of East Quogue, was arrested Nov. 11 in East Quogue and charged with second degree assault, a felony. Police said Suarez used a pool stick as a weapon at the East Quogue Pub at 1:43 a.m. to strike another person, causing pain, swelling and a laceration to the victim's head. Suarez was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a class A misdemeanor.

•A felony assault was reported in East Quogue Nov. 11 in which Anthony Prosano, 24, of East Quogue, was arrested for striking another man with a beer bottle, causing injury. Prosano, at 1:43 a.m., was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. 

Criminal Contempt

•Mark Kwasnik, 62, of Flanders, was arrested Nov. 9 at 12:42 a.m. and charged withh criminal contempt second degree, a misdemeanor, after police say Kwasnik violated an order of protection that was issued to keep him away from his girlfriend who lives on Evergreen Road in Flanders. Kwasnik was arrested on that road.
