Quogue Village Police: Teen Charged With Second-Degree Strangulation

The following information was supplied by the Quogue Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

Quogue Village Police reports for the week of August 9 through August 16:

Strangulation

Edmund Schall, 19, of East Quogue was arrested by Quogue Village Police Tuesday, August 9 at 10:40 a.m. at police headquarters on Quogue Street and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and criminal mischief, all felonies. At a party on Barker Lane in Quogue on July 25 at 3:30 a.m., Police said Schall assaulted a 19-year-old woman from Pennsylvania. At his arraignment, Schall was remanded to Suffolk County jail on $7,500 bail.

Trespassing

Ryan Marin, 19, of Westhampton Beach was arrested by Quogue Village Police Thursday, August 11 at 3:18 a.m. on Quogue Street in Quogue and charged with third-degree criminal trespassing and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. He was also charged with and trespass, a violation. Police said Marin was seen on someone’s yard on Elizabeth Lane and tried to run away from police before a minor scuffle occurred.

DWI

Christopher Fischer, 22, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Quogue Village Police Saturday at 3:10 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Fischer was stopped for illegally passing another car when police discovered he was intoxicated.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance

Adam G. Weyant, 24, of Tannersville was arrested by Quogue Village Police Friday at 10:40 a.m. on Midhampton Avenue and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Weyant was stopped for a traffic violation when police discovered he had heroin on him.

Driving While Ability Impaired

A 17-year-old was arrested by Quogue Village Police Thursday, August 11 at 1:03 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Quogue and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Police pulled the 17-year-old over for not using a signal when they discovered he was under the influence of a controlled substance, they said.
