Quogue Village Police: Husband and Wife Stole Water

Burglary
Quogue Village Police say they arrested a husband and wife near an industrial building after they discovered the duo had been stealing water. According to police, Dennis Spellman, Jr., 35, of Hampton Bays broke into to a commercial property on Midhampton Avenue in Quogue sometime before Monday. He and his wife, Michele Spellman, 44, of Quogue were using the water from the building for their camper. Police said it is possible the two were living out of their camper, but were not sure.

The owner of the building saw the Spellmans using the water hook up Monday morning at 8:45 a.m., police said.
Police said the incident could be part of a larger landlord-tenant dispute, as the Spellmans had previously rented a space in the industrial building.

Both Dennis and Michele Spellman were charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespassing and criminal possession of stolen property, all misdemeanors. Dennis Spellman was additionally charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, because police discovered he had a switch blade knife.
DWI
Juan Bruno-Rivera, 28, of the Bronx was arrested Saturday at 3:25 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Bruno-Rivera passed a car illegally.
