Quogue Village police arrested a 25-year-old Bay Shore man and charged him with two counts of third-degree sex abuse, a misdemeanor, after he allegedly had sex with a minor.
Police said William Ellinger was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, another misdemeanor, after parents of a 16-year-old boy discovered their son and Elinger engaged in a sexual act in a house in Quogue on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
Through an investigation, cops said they learned that Ellinger and the 16-year-old, whose name is being withheld, met online.
He was formally charged on Tuesday at 1:45 a.m.
