Quogue Police Log: Quogue Man Charged With Theft of Services

Theft of Services
Quogue Village Police last week charged a 61-year-old Quogue resident with a misdemeanor after they found out he illegally threw out his garbage.

Louis Hornick voluntarily went to Quogue Village Police headquarters Friday following a police investigation into residential garbage found in a commercial dumpster near a building on Midhampton Avenue. The owner of the building told Village Police that on Sept. 5 at around 4 p.m., Hornick dumped his garbage in his dumpster.
Police charged Hornick with theft of services, a misdemeanor. Police released Hornick on an appearance ticket.

DWI
Amanda Austin, 22, of Shirley was arrested by Quogue Village Police Friday at 2:10 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Austin over for following another car too closely and then discovered she was intoxicated.
