Quogue Police: East Quogue Boy Drove Reckessly with Alcohol in Vehicle

The following information was supplied by the Quogue Village Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

reports for the week of August 16 through August 23:

A 17-year-old boy from East Quogue was arrested by Quogue Village Police Friday at 8:52 p.m. on Montauk Highway in East Quogue and charged with reckless driving and unlawful possession of alcohol with intent to consume, both misdemeanors, and traffic violations. Police said he also tried to evade police, but they did not charge him on that offense. The man, whose name was not disclosed because he is underage, reportedly had three other kids in the car with him.

Kelsey Leard, 22, of Bennington, VT was arrested by Quouge Village Police Saturday at 3 a.m. on Foster Road in Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Leard was stopped for not having working taillights, police said.

Mario Gutierrez-Veliz, 21, of East Quogue was arrested Saturday at 4:39 a.m. on Montauk Highway in Quogue and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said Gutierrez-Veliz was stopped for illegally passing another car.
