Quogue FD Uses YouTube To Boost Membership [Video]

Quogue Fire Chief Tim Shea posted a video on YouTube on Thursday.

In an effort to boost it's membership, Quogue Fire Chief Tim Shea has posted an informational video on YouTube

The video, which was posted on July 19, urges residents to join the 58-member , saying that the fire department excepts all members of the community into its volunteer family.

Shea, a 13-year firefighter, who took over as chief in December, has stated that he would like to see the department grow to 75 active members in order to adequately cover days and nights.

She also said that sside from actively recruiting new members, the department is also investing in its junior firefighter program, which has, in the past, increased membership with parents of junior firefighters joining and the junior firefighters themselves eventually becoming firefighters.

The Quogue Fire Department is not the only local department to turn to YouTube. In October 2011, the Hampton Bays Fire Department posted a video in an effort to bring their membership to 100.
