detectives are asking for the public's help to locate a man who robbed the TD Bank branch on West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays on Monday afternoon.
The man handed a bank teller a note indicating that he had a weapon and demanded cash, according to police. The teller complied and the man fled on foot, last seen headed south on East Tiana Road, police said.
The police recieved a panic alarm at 4:40 p.m. and a 911 call shortly after from a teller. Police said that officers were on scene within minutes and searched the area with help from a New York State police K-9 unit, but the robber was gone.

The suspect is described as black, 6 feet and 1 inch tall, stocky build, with a goatee and around 25 to 35 years old. He was wearing a red short-sleeved shirt, dark shorts, a grey baseball hat with a red Yankees symbol and sunglasses at the time, police said.
