Police: Flanders Man Busted for Cocaine, Crack Possession

The driver had a suspended license, police said.

A Flanders man was arrested early Friday morning after police said he was caught driving with a suspended license with crack and cocaine in his car.

According to Southampton Town police, Walter A. Mims IV, 28, was stopped at 3:08 a.m. in Hampton Bays for a traffic violation. 

An investigation revealed Mims to be in possession of both crack and powder cocaine, police said.

He was was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree, misdemeanor, police said; he was held overnight for morning arraignment.
