Police Arrest Two Early Sunday Morning on DWI Charges

The following information was provided by Southampton Town Police.

Police arrested two men on charges of DWI in separate incidents early Sunday morning.

Hampton Bays resident, Lukasz Kononczuk, 24, was arrested around 1:50 a.m. on Shinnecock Road. Police said Kononczuk was stopped for a traffic infraction and it was later determined he was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was transported to headquarters, processed, and held for morning arraignment. 

Paul Costello, 47, of Babylon, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. on Wakeman Road. According to police, Costello was pulled over for failing to maintain his travel lane and an investigation allegedly revealed he was operating his vehicle while intoxicated. Costello was also reportedly found to be in possession of oxycodone without a prescription, and was also arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for morning arraignment.
