Woman Pinned Between Cars at Transfer Station

An Eastport woman was taken to the hospital Friday afternoon.

An Eastport woman was pinned between two cars at the Westhampton Transfer Station late Friday morning after a driver attempting to park his car slipped off his brake pedal.

According to Southampton Town Police, Marie Gordon was standing behind her parked vehicle removing trash from her trunk when Clinton Hammond, of Westhampton, slipped his foot off his brake pedal and his car accelerated into Gordon.

Emergency responders managed to free Gorden, who was transported via Suffolk County Medivac Helicopter to Stony Brook Medical Center.

Her condition was not released by police.

Hammond, who was driving a 2010 Ford Focus, was not charged in the incident.

Both Gordon and Hammond's vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
