Mother and Daughter Arrested for Grand Larceny
Officers say earlier police report may have been ruse.
A Ronkonkoma mother and daughter were charged with grand larceny in mid-September after they allegedly sold $50,000 worth of dumpsters, police said.
According to , a Yaphank-based WRS Environmental Services left some of their Dumpsters on property on Old County Road in Westhampton, and the property owners, Ellen Okvist, 55, and Ashley Okvist, 28, sold the Dumpsters for more than $50,000.
, and other heavy-duty mining equipment, was filed with Town Police in early September. Police said the report may have been a ruse by the Okvistโs to try to cover up the crime.

Both the mother and daughter were charged with second-degree grand larceny, a felony. Police are investigating the whereabouts of the other reported missing equipment at ., police said.
