Cops: Man Ripped Off More Jewelers with Fake Coins

A Queens man who was busted for selling fake coins to a Garden City jeweler has been charged with ripping off two other businesses, reported Nassau County Police.

Allen Natanel, 27, of Flushing, faces more charges after investigators discovered he sold counterfeit antique coins to two other Nassau County jewelers, cops said.

DA: Attorney Stole $16K in Escrow Funds

A Lido Beach woman stole more than $16,000 meant for taxes on a New Jersey family’s apartment in New York City, reported the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

Susan Odery, 56, of Lido Beach, was arrested and arraigned Wednesday on two counts of third-degree grand larceny, said the DA. Odery was released on her own recognizance.

Teens Charged with Threats Against High School

Two teens face charges after allegedly writing threatening messages on a bathroom wall in Valley Stream South High School, reported Nassau County Police.

Bryan Esteves, 16, of Valley Stream, and an unnamed juvenile were charged Friday morning with making terroristic threats and graffiti by police.

Detectives said the two went into a first floor bathroom and wrote a threatening message against the school on the wall Monday. An investigation led police to the two defendants, who were arrested at the school and charged at 8:19 a.m. Friday, officers reported.

DA: New Charges for Brothers Accused of Phony Beauty, Health Product
Scam

Two brothers accused of selling $2 million worth of counterfeit health and beauty products seized earlier this month from five Nassau County locations now face new grand jury charges, officials said.

Pardeep Malik, 59, of Plainview, and Hamant Mullick, 60, of Franklin Square, were arraigned Thursday, according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office.

Famed Attorney Dominic Barbara to Avoid Jail, For Now

Dominic Barbara of Williston Park, who pled guilty last week on criminal contempt charges, will not be serving jail time so long as he stays out of trouble.

The former celebrity attorney has pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal charges in connection with a September 2012 charge of violating an order of protection.

Police: Woman Fights Off Robber in ShopRite Parking Lot, 2 Arrested

Two people who attempted to rob a woman in a West Babylon ShopRite parking lot Wednesday afternoon were quickly arrested, police said. 

Police said Frankie Campanelli, of Lindenhurst, and James Brescia, of North Babylon, were sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of the supermarket, located at 64 Route 109, when Brescia got out of the car and forcibly attempted to take the purse of a woman who was placing her groceries in the rear of her vehicle, which was in the same parking lot, police said. 

Police Seeking Kings Park Hate Crime Vandals

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Hate Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person(s) who vandalized San Remo Community Park on Saint Johnland Road in Kings Park.

A swastika, a pentagram and an upside down cross, among other graffiti, were spray painted on the play set at the park between March 15 at 5 p.m. and March 16 at 9:30 a.m. 

Police: Two Men Arrested in Deer Park Bank Robbery

A Chase Bank in Deer Park was robbed Thursday afternoon, but two men were quickly arrested, police said. 

Police said Leroy Greene and Leo Johnson, both of Wyandanch, entered the Chase Bank, located at 1948 Deer Park Avenue, at around noon on Thursday. One of the men approached a teller and presented a note stating that he had a gun and demanded cash, police said.

The other man waited in the bank and after the teller complied with the demand, both robbers fled the bank on foot, police said. 

Police located both and placed them into custody around 12:25 p.m., police said. Further investigation by Pattern Crime Unit detectives revealed Greene was also responsible for robbing a Chase Bank at 35 Woods Road in North Babylon on March 12, police said.
