Incident Reports: Paddleboards and Cash Stolen
Also this week, a 3-foot chicken went missing.
Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:
Petty Larceny
• On May 2, A Southampton resident told police that someone stole prescription pills from his unlocked car that was parked on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays.
• A Flanders resident reported to police on April 3 that someone took a 3-foot tall, green cast iron chicken from his yard. The chicken, he said is valued at $500. Police have no leads.
Grand Larceny
• A Remsenburg resident told police on May 4 that someone broke into his home and stole numerous items from a storage area in his basement. Among the items taken were three paddleboards, valued each at over $500. Also stolen were three mountain bikes, worth $50 each.
• A Quiogue business owner told police on May 1 that someone stole two batteries, valued at over $1000 from his business in the overnight hours.
Burglary
• A Westhampton resident reported to police on April 29 that someone broke into her shed and stole a paddle board, valued at $1,000; flotation vests, valued at $900, water skis, valued at $1,200 and a float, priced at $250.
• A Hampton Bays resident told police that on May 3 someone entered her hope and stole cash from bedroom closets and purses. A total of $2290 was taken.
Menacing
• A Riverside resident told police on April 30 that a man he knows brandished a small black gun, threatening him and then walking away. He said the man who threatened him was driving a 2002, white Cadillac.
