Incident Report: Beach Bar Beat Down

Also this week, a Mercedes SUV was reported stolen after a man left the keys in it overnight.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Forged Instrument Possession

• An employee of Uncle Joe’s Pizza in Hampton Bays reported on July 13 that someone had submitted a counterfeit $100 bill to the restaurant. According to police, the man bought two bottles of soda and collected $96 in change.

Assault

• A Hampton Bays man took a beating outside of the Beach Bar on Saturday at around 4 a.m. According to a police report, they said that after he left the club, he was punched in the back of the head and believed he was repeatedly struck, though he said he did not remember the turn of events that led to the incident at all. The man suffered a broken nose, concussion, bruised knee and cuts and bruises to the face.

Grand Larceny

 • A Jupiter, Fla. man reported that between Thursday night and Friday morning, someone stole his Mercedes coupe from South Road in Westhampton. The man had parked it there between 11 p.m. on Thursday, and reported it was taken by 7:45 the next morning.

According to a police report, the man said the keys were left in the unlocked vehicle, which was a black, four-door 2013 Mercedes CLS 550 with Florida plates, valued at $90,000.

The man’s golf clubs, valued at $6,000, and three Gore-Tex jackets valued at $500 were listed as valuables in the car.

• A Speonk homeowner reported that sometime between June 25 and July 9, someone stole several pieces of jewelry, including a watch and silver necklace, valued at a total of $1,300.
