Hampton Bays Teen Arraigned on Rape, Touching Charges

A 19-year-old Hampton Bays man has been charged with sexually abusing two women at a home in Hampton Bays, allegedly raping one and forcibly touching the other.
Ronald Ventriglia was arraigned July 2 on charges of forcible touching, a misdemeanor, and first-degree sexual abuse, a felony. A day later, he was arraigned again, this time for first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree rape, a felony.
officials said Ventriglia was ordered held on $7,500 bail during the first arraignment and an additional $15,000 during the second arraignment. He posted a bond and was released.

Det. Sgt. Randy Hintze, the head of the detective division, would not give details about the arrest. “Our policy has been not to comment on sex crime cases,” he said.
Patch filed a Freedom of Information Law request with the police department on Monday seeking the arrest report and is awaiting a response.
