Hampton Bays Man Runs From Police In Late Night Car Chase

Also, a Quogue man is busted for shoplifting at Stop N' Shop in Hampton Bays.

The following arrests were reported by the Southampton Town Police Department and New York State Troopers west of the Shinnecock Canal over the past week. A charge is an accusation. Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Hampton Bays

  • Ervin Lopez-Fuentes, 25, of Hampton Bays was arrested by Southampton Town Police on a drunken driving charge in Hampton Bays on Sept. 20 after police said he tried to run from them. Lopez-Fuentes was driving a 2002 Nissan Altima and made an improper turn at the intersection of Ponquogue and Fanning Avenue at around 11 p.m., police said. When they attempted to stop him, he sped up, turning onto Anderson Road and then onto Oak Drive North. Police said he then entered a driveway and tried to flee on foot, but was caught as he was exiting the vehicle. He was charged with DWI, unlawful fleeing a police officer in the third degree and reckless driving, all misdemeanors. He was additionally charged with failure to yield on a left turn, making an improper turn and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all violations.
  • Paramijit Singh, 27, of Shirley was arrested by state police on a drunken driving charge in Hampton Bays on Sept. 16. According to police, Singh was initially stopped for failing to maintain a lane on Montauk Highway but was found to be intoxicated. He is being charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and is due in Southampton Town Court on Sept. 25.
  • Reginald Seymore, 51, of Riverhead was arrested by state police on Sept. 16 in Hampton Bays. According to police Seymore was stopped at a road check on Sunrise Highway at Exit 65 and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. He is due back in court on Sept. 30.
  • A 46-year-old Quogue man was arrested on Sept. 20 in Hampton Bays on a charge of petty larceny, a misdemeanor. According to police, the man stole more than $200 worth of items from the Stop N’ Shop on Montauk Highway at around 2 p.m.
