Hampton Bays Firefighters Make a Showing at Tunnel To Towers Run

On Sunday, The participated in the Tunnel To Towers Run in New York City where 24 members of the department ran from Brooklyn to Manhattan, through the Battery Tunnel in full turnout gear.  Four volunteer firefighters ran in full SCBA tanks.

This is the fourth year that the department team has participated in the run. This year's team was organized by Lt. Lou Stellato, who said it was the least the department could do to honor those lost on 9/11.

A number of and also participated in the ten-year anniversary memorial service.  The members of the Hampton Bays Tech Rescue Team 2001 that returned to Ground Zero were Rick Durand, Chris Langsdorf, Rob King, Rodney Trafford, Chris Hansen, and Matt Zukosky who was a flight medic for the SCPD during 9/11.
