The fire was reported shortly before 9 p.m. at 204 E. Montauk Highway, and as fire trucks and police vehicles filled the road, fire police sent to Gravel Hill Road, Old Riverhead Road, and other cross streets.
Fire damage was not visible from outside the house, but firefighters were still going in and out.

Other departments were called to send in mutual aid, but the fire was knocked down within minutes and the call was canceled.
