Flanders Man Sentenced To Prison For Sex Crimes Against Children

He was also slapped with orders of protection for both young victims.

A Flanders man who committed sex crimes against two young children was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday in Suffolk County Criminal Court before Judge Barbara Kahn.

Albert Carini, 53, was indicted before a Suffolk County grand jury last August for sexually abusing two children.

According to Robert Clifford, spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota, Carini, was indicted on charges for crimes he committed from mid-2011 through May of 2012. He was charged with sexually abusing a child less than 11 years old and another alleged victim less than 14 years old.

Carini, who was held in Suffolk County Correctional facility in lieu of $150,000 cash bail, pleaded guilty in April to one charge each of course of sexual conduct against a child in the first degree and second degree, sexual abuse in the second degree, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He had initially pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Carini was also slapped with orders of protection for both victims for 12 years; he faces post-parole supervision for 10 years, in accordance with Jenna's Law.
