Update: Firefighters Extinguish Small Fire at Tiana Beach Pavilion

The pavilion at will reopen at 11 a.m. after a small fire broke out under pavilion's deck on Thursday at about 2:30 p.m.

The pavilion and concession stand was closed after the fire so damage could be assessed. Workers, according to employees at the pavilion, began work to fix the deck early Friday morning.

Those at the pavilion when the fire broke out say off duty firefighters helped to get the fire under control until the arrived and extinguished the flames.
