County Road 39 Lane Reopens After Dump Truck Spill

Section of westbound lane in Tuckahoe affected.

All lanes of County Road 39, near the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, were reopened by 2:25 p.m.ย  Monday after a lane had to be closed when a dump truck spilled sand, gravel and asphalt onto the roadway.

The incident occurred at 1:09 p.m., according to police, causing a stretch of one westbound lane to be closed. Traffic was diverted until a street sweeper could clean up the mess.

A dump truck spilled sand, gravel and asphalt on County Road 39 near the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Tuckahoe on Monday afternoon, causing westbound traffic to back up.

One westbound lane is closed as street sweepers arrive to clean up the mess, according to police. Traffic is also being diverted to Sebonac Road and elsewhere to get around the spill.

The incident occurred at 1:09 p.m., according to police, and the lane remained closed as of 2 p.m.
