Drunken Driver Pushing More Than 100 mph on Route 27, Cops Say

Tuckahoe man arrested on Sunrise Highway in Hampton Bays.

A Tuckahoe man was picked up on a drunken driving charge after police said they caught him doing more than 100 mph on Sunrise Highway. 

State Police arrested Dylan Doherty, 48, on Route 27, just west of exit 65 in Hampton Bays, on Nov. 20 at about 8:45 p.m.  They pulled him over in a 2011 Volvo XC90 after they clocked him traveling east at 103 mph on the highway just west of the Route 24 exit. 

After police pulled him over, they found he was intoxicated, police said. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI.

He is due back in court on Dec. 9.
