Crimes Nearby: An Alleged Prostitute and Her 'John' Picked Up in Flanders

The following information was supplied by police departments on the East End. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.

RIVERHEAD

An alleged prostitute and her 'john' were arrested in Northampton Wednesday evening after police said they spotted the couple together in Flanders.

Ismael Mercado, 45, of Center Moriches with Kimberly Torres, 45, of Southampton were pulled over on suspicion of DWI at the corner of Old Westhampton Road and Lakeview Drive in Northampton at around 11 p.m. Aug. 31, according to police reports.

After pulling over the pair, police said they discovered Torres had drugs on her. She was charged with prostitution and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.

Torres was charged with third-degree criminal patronizing a prostitute and DWI, both misdemeanors.

SOUTHAMPTON

Michael N. Lacy, 20, of Southampton was involved in a disturbance at 230 Elm in Southampton in the predawn hours Saturday, according to Southampton Village police. He was arrested at 3:50 a.m. and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, a violation; riot in the second degree, resisting arrest, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, all misdemeanors. He was held for arraignment.

NORTH FORK

Juan Jose Giron-Gatcia, 30, of Mattituck was charged with driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest on Tuesday at 12:19 a.m. after police had to use a Taser to subdue him during a struggle with an officer, police said.

Police observed Gatcia driving along West Mill Road in Mattituck and not being able to maintain his lane, police said. The officer on the scene attempted to stop Gatcia but he sped up in an effort to flee and was followed to a residence on West Mill, where Gatcia jumped out of his vehicle and tried to get into his residence, police said. A struggle ensued and the officer struck Gatcia with a Taser and arrested him for aggravated DWI, resisting arrest, fleeing from police, and many other vehicle and traffic violations, police said.

EAST HAMPTON

on Springs-Fireplace Road, near Abraham's Path, in East Hampton on Aug. 20, was speeding and was driving with a suspended license, according to . Police said Diego Ordonez, 27, of East Hampton, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, on Sunday morning after numerous attempts to contact him.

James W. Hancock Jr., 35, of Shoreham, was arrested on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, on Aug. 24, nearly two weeks after he first took a jet ski from in Montauk, failed to return it, and caused damage to it, said.

Sean K. Bailey, 25, of West Orange, NJ, was also charged with drunken driving after an accident in Amagansett on Sunday at about 3 a.m. An officer on foot patrol reportedly witnessed the accident, where a 1999 Mercedes-Benz traveling west on Main Street slowed to pull over into a parking spot and was rear-ended by a 2011 Mercedes-Benz, driven by Bailey. The officer said Bailey appeared intoxicated and was arrested. The driver of the other car, Syed Rida Shoh, a driver for a Wainscott-based limo service, was not injured. Justice Catherine A. Cahill released Bailey on his own recognizance.
