Crimes Nearby: Police Discover Unconscious Assault Victim in Mattituck

NORTH FORK

• James Schade, 46, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated on Nov. 25 at 6:54 p.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation on Route 25 in Southold, police said. Schade was arrested and processed at police headquarters in Peconic, and his vehicle was impounded due to a prior DWI arrest, police said.

• Zachary Pileski, 21, of Mattituck, was charged with third-degree assault on Nov. 24 at 4:23 a.m., after police responded to a report of an unconscious 29-year-old man lying in the parking lot near the train station on Pike Street in Mattituck, police said. Police determined he was the victim of an assault and the man was taken by members of the Mattituck Fire Department to Eastern Long Island Hospital for medical attention, police said. Investigation revealed that Pileski had tried to stop a fight between the man and another subject and struck the aggressor in the face, causing him to lose consciousness and fall face first into the pavement, police said. Pileski was later arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.

• Erwin Gruber, 39, of Cutchogue was charged with driving while intoxicated on Nov. 26 at 4:12 a.m., after police stopped him for speeding in a 2003 Porsche west on Route 48 in Peconic, police said. Gruber failed several roadside sobriety tests, was found to be intoxicated and was transported to police headquarters where he was held overnight pending arraignment.

• Victor Dubon-Garcia, 24, of Greenport, and Efrain Garcia, 26, of Greenport, were each charged with DWI and felony aggravated unlicensed operation after being involved in a car accident on Nov. 25 at 12:01 a.m. at the corner of Main Bayview Road and Route 25 in Southold, police said. Dubon-Garcia was driving a 1995 Honda north on Main Bayview and slowing down to a stop at the intersection when Garcia rear-ended Dubon-Garcia's vehicle with a 1997 Honda, police said. Both men were found to be intoxicated and driving without licenses, and Garcia's driving privilege had been suspended for a previous DWI charge, police said.

• A 38-year-old homeless woman who urinated in front of a police officer in Mattituck was charged with disorderly conduct on Monday at 7:32 p.m, Southold Town Police report.

• Police responded to a report made on Monday evening of a person lying on a sidewalk of the Mattituck Shopping plaza, police said. Police identified the person as Maryann Walsh, and while interviewing her, Walsh pulled her pants down and urinated, police said. She was arrested and processed at police headquarters and held overnight for arraignment.

SOUTHAMPTON

• Christopher J. Gettling, 36, of Southampton, was arrested Nov. 22 at 8:55 a.m. and charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. In addition, he had an outstanding bench warrant out of , Southampton Village police said. After his arrest, he was processed and turned over to  for further processing.

• Noah V. Wilson, 21, of Southampton, was arrested Nov. 27 at 1:43 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and DWI, both misdemeanors. Southampton Village police said they stopped Wilson for failing to maintain his lane of traffic while operating a 2009 Chevrolet northbound on North Sea Road. After further investigation, he was arrested and charged with DWI, police said.He was processed and held for morning arraignment.

• Jeremy Clint, 21, of Sag Harbor, was arrested Nov. 22 at 12:24 a.m. on Noyac Road in Noyac and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Southampton Town police officers stopped Clint for having dirty license plates when they discovered that he appeared intoxicated, according to police reports.

• Chasrlotte Yenchko, 22, of East Norwich, was arrested Nov. 21 at 2:39 p.m. at Southampton Town police headquarters in Hampton Bays and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Two pocketbooks were found in the parking lot on Montauk Highway in Sagaponack, and while officers looked inside the bags for ID, they discovered oxycodone pills, according to reports. Yenchko admitted the pills were hers, police said.

RIVERHEAD

• Riverhead police are searching for three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, who allegedly entered a home in downtown Riverhead Wednesday night and demanded money, then fled with a cell phone after one of the residents struggled with the burglars.

• Police said they responded to a larceny call after three black men entered a home on East Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. After demanding money, the suspects scuffled with one of the residents in the home and fled with a Blackberry cell phone, according to a police report of the incident. Police said the suspects are still at large.  Police arrived after the burglary took place, according to a report. No one was injured in the incident, police said.

• A highly intoxicated Riverhead man was punched in the face during a brawl at Riverside Laundry on West Main Street on Nov. 20, police said. The man reported that he was struck by an unknown Hispanic man at about 4 p.m. who fled before police arrived, according to a police report of the incident. The man was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for his injuries. No charges have been filed, police said.

• Leocadio Soc-Sian, 29, of Riverhead, was arrested on Nov. 19 and charged with aggravated DWI and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after police responded to a 911 call reporting loud music coming from his vehicle, police said.
Police said they observed Soc-Sian failing to stay in his lane on Hamilton Avenue. Police pulled him over and arrested him after investigating for alcohol, according to a police report of the incident. Soc-Sian was processed and held for Monday arraignment, police said.

EAST HAMPTON

• Anton J. Silich, 42, of Redding, CT, was arrested and charged with a felony after he was allegedly caught driving drunk with his son in the car on Thanksgiving in Springs.  The officer activated his lights and sirens, but Silich did not immediately stop. He came to a stop on Springs Fireplace Road near Queens Lane. When the officer came to his window, Silich did not roll the driver's side window all the way down and would not speak in the officer's direction. When he finally rolled his window fully down, police said they could smell an alcoholic beverage on his breath. handed police a credit card instead of his license, before correcting his mistake. Silich's son was sitting in the back center seat.

are looking for a suspect in a burglary at a Stephen Hands Path residence on Friday. According to a statement from police, the man was found in the basement of 203 Stephen Hands Path at about 10 a.m. He fled with a shopping bag containing women's undergarments when he was stopped by an acquaintance of the homeowner. "After a brief struggle he continued on foot running southbound on Stephen Hands Path where he entered the tree line on the east side of the road," police said.
