Crime Report: Multiple DWIs and Driving While Under the Influence of Drugs

Police snag five allegedly impaired drivers in western Southampton.

Southampton Town Police arrest reports, Jan. 3 through Jan. 9:

Driving While Impaired by Drugs

Shaun J. Worthington, 30, of East Quogue was arrested Jan. 3 at around 11:41 p.m. and charged with driving while impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, both felonies, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. Police said Worthington was stopped in the middle of Old Quogue Road in Riverside, and when an officer investigated it was discovered that Worthington was under the influence of a drug. His driver’s license was suspended for a previous conviction of driving while impaired by drugs, according to authorities. He was also found to be in possession of a quantity of PCP.

DWI

Orlando Bonilla, 23, of Hampton Bays was arrested Saturday at around 3:52 a.m. and charged with DWI. Bonilla was stopped after he was observed driving erratically on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays, police said. He was additionally charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a felony, based upon a prior alcohol-related conviction, police said.

Yaira Carranza, 39, of Brentwood was arrested Sunday at around 2:26 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police said Carranza was stopped on Lake Avenue in Riverside after she was observed driving in an erratic manner. She was found to be intoxicated.

Frederic J. Ridolf, 54, of Manhasett was arrested Wednesday at around 10:51 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police said Ridolf was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays. When police arrived, he was unable to perform standard field sobriety tests and failed a breathylizer test. He was additionally charged with moving from lane unsafely and speeding. No injuries were indicated on the arrest report.

Omar Morales, 34, of Hampton Bays was arrested Monday at around 1:34 a.m. and charged with DWI. Police said a caller reported an intoxicated man leaving a West Tiana Road address in a green Toyata pickup truck. Police said an officer spotted Morales turning on to West Tiana Road from Montauk Highway, stopped him, and discovered he was intoxicated. Morales was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held overnight for arraignment. He was additionally charged with speeding, moving from lane unsafely and failure to signal.
